Welcome to Family Place – Victoria County
Within Victoria County, Family Place offers parents, caregivers, and children an opportunity to come together and share the joys and challenges of parenting. We offer these programs and services from two office locations – North of Smokey in our New Haven office and South of Smokey from our Baddeck office. Services are offered to parents and caregivers with children birth to 6 years.
One of the goals of the organization is to ensure that our programs and services are as accessible as possible. We do this by offering programs throughout many of the communities within Victoria County. As well, we work within our budgets to provide whatever support we can to help with child care and transportation costs. All Family Place programs are free of charge.
Some of the services and programs offered include a whole variety of parent education programs, Play Groups, Ready to Learn, Read with Me, Tumble Bugs, Music and Movement and home visiting programs. We are also proud supporters of the North of Smokey Safer Communities work and offer programs and services connected to these efforts in the North of Smokey communities.
During the 2014-2015 fiscal year we offered programs and services in Aspy Bay, Baddeck, Bay St. Lawrence, Big Baddeck, Big Bras d'Or, Black Rock, Bras d'Or, the Cape Breton Highland's National Park, Cape North, Christmas Island, Ingonish, Iona, Neil's Harbour, New Haven, St. Ann's and Tarbot.
