Port Hawkesbury & Richmond County

Within Port Hawkesbury/Richmond County, Family Place offers parents, caregivers, and children an opportunity to come together and share the joys and challenges of parenting.  We also offer support services to families during the prenatal period through both group programs and home visiting programs.  Services continue to be offered to parents and caregivers with children birth to 18 years.

One of the goals of the organization is to ensure that our programs and services are as accessible as possible.  We do this by offering programs throughout many of the communities within Port Hawkesbury/Richmond County.  As well, we work within our budgets to provide whatever support we can to help with child care and transportation costs.  All Family Place programs are free of charge.

Some of the services and programs offered include prenatal programs, breastfeeding information and support, Baby Talk/Wee Ones, a whole variety of parent education programs, Play Groups, Read with Me, Tumble Bugs, Music and Movement and home visiting programs.  We have home visiting programs for families with infants and very young children (Enhanced Home Visiting) as well as for families with children up to 18 years of age (Parenting Journey Home Visiting).  Our office has the capacity to serve you in both official languages and some of our programs are offered in French, or in a bilingual fashion.

During the course of the year, we offer programs and services in D'Escousse, Janvrin's Island, L'Ardoise, Louisdale, Petit de Grat, Port Hastings,Port Hawkesbury, Potlotek, St. Peter's, and Sampson's Cove.
