Welcome to Family Place – Inverness County
Within Inverness County, Family Place offers parents, caregivers, and children an opportunity to come together and share the joys and challenges of parenting. We also offer support services to families during the prenatal period through both group programs and home visiting programs. Services continue to be offered to parents and caregivers with children birth to 6 years.
One of the goals of the organization is to ensure that our programs and services are as accessible as possible. We do this by offering programs throughout many of the communities within Inverness County. As well, we work within our budgets to provide whatever support we can to help with child care and transportation costs. All Family Place programs are free of charge.
Some of the services and programs offered include prenatal programs, breast feeding support, Baby Talk, a whole variety of parent education programs, Play Groups, Ready to Learn, Read with Me, Sensory Play, Tumble Bugs, Music and Movement and home visiting programs.
During the 2014-2015 fiscal year we offered programs and services in Cheticamp. Glencoe, Inverness, Judique, Mabou, Margaree, Margaree Forks, Pleasant Bay, Port Hawkesbury (serviced from our Port Hawkesbury office – please see our Richmond County page for details), Port Hood and Whycocomagh.
