A fun opportunity for parents, caregivers and their children to come together and help plant, maintain and grow a garden. This garden is inspired by and modeled after the 18th century deGannes family garden at the Fortress of Louisbourg National Historic Site. It was created in partnership with a host of organizations and community volunteers. Each year, our families plan, plant, weed, water and maintain the gardens. Each August, we celebrate the strong connection with our Fortress friends by inviting program participants to come along to the Fortress where staff host us and celebrate our gardening successes.
