The location for this program is Family Place, 714 Alexandra Street, Sydney
Family Place Technicians offer monthly presentations for parents and groups within the community to teach the choice of the appropriate child restraint systems, secure children in these systems, and install child restraint systems correctly.
Since injuries sustained in motor vehicle collisions are a leading cause of death for Canadian children, an important part of injury prevention work is to facilitate child restraint systems presentations and installations. The majority of these injuries are predictable and preventable. Technicians trained by the Child Passenger Association of Canada work to increase community awareness and knowledge of the correct use of child restraint systems and seat belts.
